We look forward to receiving a completed online application form.

• If you have already submitted the Inquiry Form and therefore have created an account, please continue the application process with the same login.
• If you have not submitted a Registration of Interest form, you will be asked to create an account when you fill out the Application form.
• If you are returning to ZIS or if you have already applied or inquired during a previous year, please contact the Admissions team and they will reopen your file.

Paying the Application Fee

Once you have completed the application form you will be asked to pay the application fee of CHF 500 (plus credit card processing fees) per child via credit card.  This non-refundable application fee must be paid in order to initiate the application process and does not guarantee admission to the school. Admission is dependent on suitability of the program for your child, submission of relevant documentation in support of the application and grade capacity.

The following documents must be uploaded for all applicants (unless otherwise indicated) once the form has been submitted and payment of the application fee has been made:

• For Lower School and Middle School, the most recent report card and/or the last end of year report. For Kindergarten, Pre-kindergarten and Preschool, only if available
• For Upper School, the most recent report cards and/or report cards from the end of the last two years
• General teacher recommendation form for all applicants
• English teacher recommendation form for Grades 6 through 12
• Mathematics teacher recommendation for Grades 9 through 12
• Photo page of Passport

The ZIS teacher recommendation forms are accessed on your checklist once you have submitted the application form and paid the application fee. 

If your child has been diagnosed with learning support needs or as highly able (gifted and talented) please submit additional documentation.

Documentation must be in English or accompanied by a translation.

Once the Application is completed and all supporting documentation has been submitted, it will be evaluated by our Academic Review team. We aim to get back to you within ten working days of having received your completed file.

In most cases this process does not involve a face-to-face meeting with the applicant. However, sometimes a phone call or in-person meeting with the Principal may be necessary to discuss the application in more depth. The Admissions team will inform you if this is required.

If the Student file is academically approved:

• The Admissions team will contact you and offer your child a place, if available.
• Upon payment of the full Registration fee* (non-refundable), a Confirmation of Acceptance will be emailed to welcome your family to ZIS.
• If space is not available, your child will remain in the wait pool and the team will contact you as soon as a place opens up.

After acceptance, subject specific placement testing/screening might be required to place a student in the correct level of a course - i.e. mathematics, language and or science.

* The registration fee for Early ZIS and Preschool students must be paid before the child starts Prekindergarten.
