Global Issues is an elective Social Studies course designed to introduce students to some of the world's most pressing contemporary problems. We use interdisciplinary approaches to understand real-world issues, including global health, the environment, and international development. Students will learn the long historical background to these topics, study present-day case studies, and consider various perspectives on solving these problems. This flexible, accessible course encourages research and debate, and helps students develop the skill of communicating their findings and opinions in a variety of formats.
