Philanthropy at ZIS

Tuition sustains our core educational program. Philanthropy is what enables us to go further.

Did you know that Zurich International School began building its culture of philanthropy more than 60 years ago?

The school’s founders, with philanthropic support from parents and organizations, created the American International School of Zurich (AISZ) in the Spinnergut Villa in Kilchberg in 1963. From the very beginning, the school was founded as a non-profit institution - ensuring that every income is reinvested into our learning environment. That philanthropic culture has positively grown through the years with our community giving of their time, talent, and treasure.

Parents, alumni, trustees, staff, and community partners each play a role in expanding teaching and learning, sometimes long after their own time at the school. Donations to our Annual Fund, Capital Campaigns and other giving opportunities collectively enrich the ZIS experience.

Our giving priorities reflect our mission and values: We help to surface and inspire each learner's curiosity, critical thinking, and high expectations for their learning so that they positively impact their family, community and the world.
