Aspirational Database
This “Aspirational Database” came about as a result of the global Covid-19 pandemic. Typically, the annual Career Forum used to take place in the late fall of each year, and it is an event that Grade 10 students look forward to. In 2020 it had to be postponed until Spring and was organized in a virtual setting. Instead of seeing this as a disappointment, we saw it as an opportunity. We asked ourselves, in an international community as strong as ours, why not shift our gaze beyond our time zone and create a database of professionals who have achieved extraordinary things to inspire our students during this time?
This “Aspirational DataBase” was put together by parents of the Career Forum Committee in 2020 to serve as an addendum to the virtual sessions. The mission is to motivate students by sharing narratives of exceptional professionals from around the world that they would otherwise not have access to.
Our hope is that in time each Grade 10 class will benefit from this database and contribute to it.
