German for Fluent Speakers 6 introduces students to key concepts that help them connect language with their own experiences and the world around them. The course develops foundational skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking through engaging and age-appropriate texts. Students explore a range of genres and begin to identify basic literary and non-literary elements. Emphasis is placed on expressing ideas clearly, building vocabulary, and participating in discussions. 

German for Fluent Speakers 7

German for Fluent Speakers 7 builds on prior knowledge by deepening students’ ability to make meaningful connections between texts, themselves, and broader contexts. The course strengthens reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills through the study of varied genres. Students develop their ability to analyze texts by identifying themes, perspectives, and stylistic features. They are encouraged to express and justify their opinions both orally and in writing. In addition, students also develop research skills by selecting relevant sources and beginning to evaluate their usefulness.

German for Fluent Speakers 8 further develops students’ conceptual understanding of language and literature, encouraging more independent and critical engagement with texts. Students refine their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills through the exploration of increasingly complex literary and non-literary works. The course emphasizes analysis and interpretation, with a focus on themes, audience, and purpose. Students learn to structure arguments clearly and support them with evidence. Research skills are strengthened through evaluating source credibility and combining information from multiple sources.
