At the Intermediate level, students communicate confidently and independently across familiar and some researched topics. They initiate, maintain, and conclude conversations, exchange detailed information, and provide simple reasons and explanations. Students understand a range of texts related to everyday life, school, and familiar cultural topics, identifying main ideas and key details. They produce organized, connected discourse appropriate for a familiar audience, expressing ideas across multiple time frames with increasing clarity.
