Grades: 11 and 12

Subject Area/Course Credit: Creative Arts, 1 credit

Prerequisite: C- or above in Music Studio OR previous musical experience and a teacher recommendation (from Music teacher Mr. Haycraft)

This course creates a space for students who want to further pursue a musical pathway, whether it be performance, composition, recording, mixing, producing, instrument building, digital sound processing, or a combination thereof. The course is intended for 11th and 12th graders and admission is by teacher approval. Through crossover and collaboration with fellow music makers, students will enrich their musical experience by getting to know all facets of modern music making. Students will enjoy a focused curriculum relevant to their projects as well as independent / collaborative work time for projects / rehearsal. Performance opportunities include the Pop-up concert / installation series and more. Students on a performance path will have the chance to develop the technical skills needed to develop audition recordings as well as receive regular feedback on technique and performance practices.
