Grades: 9, 10, 11 or 12

Subject Area/Course Credit: World Language, 1 credit

Prerequisite: German A1 or CEFR A1 certificate (or equivalent) or teacher recommendation

In German A2 students continue to develop proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing, but they are also introduced to more complex reading and grammar. Grammar points studied include: the past and future tenses, coordinating and subordinating conjunctions, the dative case, the difference between direct and indirect objects, and adjective endings. Students are expected to use German as the language of communication in the classroom and at the end of the course are expected to write and converse with some spontaneity. At the end of the course students will be given the opportunity to sit an external examination to receive the European Language certificate corresponding to their current level.
