Semester course.
The Studio Art elective is an exploratory course designed to introduce students to a wide variety of media and techniques for building confidence and igniting interest in the arts. Students will be given the opportunity to strengthen their relationship with art media and materials through hands-on experiences both in 2D and 3D art forms. They will also review and learn important visual art concepts and theories, while studying and learning to appreciate the work of historically significant artists. Drawing, painting, design and paper mâché sculpture are the main components of the program. Student work will be displayed throughout the semester and at the Winter or Spring Arts Festivals.
