EAL students assessed at B1 or B2 will take an EAL ‘plus’ class in addition to the Mainstream English class for their grade. For these students the EAL ‘plus’ class has two functions; to develop the use of academic English language in reading and writing and to support mainstream classes. As these students take two English courses, they lose the choice of one elective course per semester.
