Prerequisite: Currently enrolled in or successful completion of AP Physics 1: Algebra-Based with C or above, or a science teacher recommendation.
AP Physics 2: Algebra-Based is equivalent to a second semester university course in algebra-based physics in the United States and prepares students to take the AP exam in May. AP Physics 2: Algebra-Based is designed to be taught over a full academic year to enable AP students to develop an understanding of the content and to focus on applying their knowledge through inquiry labs. The course covers Thermodynamics (with kinetic theory); PV diagrams and probability; Electrostatics; Electric potential; DC Electrical circuits with Resistors and Capacitors; Magnetic fields; Electromagnetism; Physical and Geometric Optics; and Quantum, Atomic, and Nuclear physics.
