Prerequisite: French fluent/B2.2 in grade 8 or placement test or teacher recommendation for Fluent I. French Fluent I in grade 9 or placement test or teacher recommendation for Fluent II.
This course is designed for fluent speakers to develop skills in academic reading, writing and speaking. The focus of this course will be on language structure, grammar, spelling and vocabulary in order to enable students to write and communicate more effectively. Furthermore, they will practice reading comprehension, using both literary and nonfiction texts from authentic French sources. The class will be conducted exclusively in French and students will have the opportunity to further develop their oral language skills in a higher-level environment. The course aims to prepare students to access the IB French A curriculum.
