French B1.2 is a theme-based course that is designed to build fluency and accuracy in communication. It provides a continuation of grammar review at the advanced level, further development of oral expression through discussion and formal presentations, an introduction to the analysis of Francophone literature and film, and an overview of major events, including cultural developments affecting French thought. Students prepare written work in a workshop atmosphere in which rewriting and collaboration are encouraged in order to teach self-correction. At the end of the course students are prepared to sit an external examination to receive the European Language certificate, the TELC (The European Language Certificates), corresponding to their current level, if they so choose. Students have excelled in this course may be able to sit the AP French exam.
