Independent study credit may be earned under the following conditions:
a. The proposed independent study may not replace an existing or required course, unless an unavoidable scheduling conflict occurs.
b. The independent study may be completed by enrolling in a course or conducting research at an institution outside of ZIS. Any costs incurred are the responsibility of the student’s family.
c. Independent study proposals must be submitted in writing to the Assistant Principal and/or Principal. Proposals must be detailed, specific, and receive approval from the Assistant Principal and/or Principal in order for credit to be awarded.
